Fire Marshal Nick Wall joined the Tooele City Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter in May of 2014.  Nick has served in the following positions within the department and command staff: Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and currently Battalion Chief. In November 2022 Nick was hired as Tooele City’s first full-time Fire Marshal & Emergency Manager.

As the Fire Marshal, Nick is responsible for fire code enforcement, fire and life safety prevention/education activities, and fire investigations in the City of Tooele. This responsibility includes the fire safety inspection/education program for every business occupancy within the city. It also includes educating the community, adults & children alike, on proper fire safety and prevention in the home.

As Tooele City’s Emergency Manager, Nick is responsible for creating the framework within the community to reduce the vulnerability to hazards as well as cope with disasters. He is responsible for directing the efforts of response during a disaster. He also collaborates with different organizations and government entities to respond effectively to hazards and disasters.

In addition to numerous Fire Certifications, he has a B.S. in Business Management Information Systems from Utah State University as well as a M.A. Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University.

Nick resides in Tooele City with his wife Kelli and three children who keep them very busy. They love to spend time together and enjoy traveling, sports, and other leisure activities. The Tooele City Fire Department is a huge part of their lives and they love being able to help serve their community.
