Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement
Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement
The purpose of the Animal Control/Ordinance Compliance division is to achieve code compliance so that the citizens of Tooele may enjoy a cleaner, safer, and better place to work, live, and recreate.  Our mission is to work with the community to resolve issues that impact the quality of life and the well-being of people living and working in Tooele.  Our goal is to enforce policies and regulations that promote strong, vibrant neighborhoods and communities and to encourage the positive and orderly growth and development of the City.  The Ordinance Compliance Officer is charged with addressing complaints and issues regarding improvement of neighborhoods, integrity of property values, and enforcement of ordinances to avoid unsightly or dangerous situations on private properties.

Please visit our Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement page for contact information or to submit an Animal/Ordinance Complaint.
Animal Hearings
If your animal has been alleged as dangerous or potentially dangerous, and you need to apply for a hearing, please fill out the AGRESSIVE ANIMAL HEARING APPLICATION.  The application must be filed with the Department within 30 days of impoundment of the animal by the Division or other Division determination that the animal is dangerous or potentially dangerous.
Crime Prevention
Neighborhood Watch
Citizen involvement is essential to combat crime. You and your neighbors are the ones who really know what is going on in your community and by cooperating with each other and the police, people can help fight crime in the most effective way-before it begins!

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime and fear of crime in communities. It involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together. It also involves citizens being trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods and learning and implementing crime prevention techniques.

To find your nearest Neighborhood Watch or start a neighborhood watch program in your area, please contact the Tooele City Police Department Crime Prevention Division at 435.882.8900.

We encourage residents, IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!

Tooele City offers a $250 REWARD for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for graffiti or vandalism. Records
Forms
Visit our Police Department Forms page to find copies of printable pdf. forms including a GRAMA Request Form.
Request a Record
There are three types of police records: private, controlled, and protected. Any person can make a public records request, which means a record that is not private, controlled, or protected and is prepared, owned, received, or retained by the governmental entity.

If you would like to make a request for a public record at the police department, you must fill out the GRAMA Request Form and provide an approved picture ID. These can be submitted in person, by mail, by email, or by fax. For more information, visit our Request For Records (Police) Page.
Traffic Safety
Crossing Guards

Crossing guards are hired on an as needed basis, usually at the beginning of the school year, which is in August. Most elementary schools have crossing guards as part of their school safety plans, so the crossing guards follow the schedule of each individual elementary school. If you are interested in becoming a crossing guard or receiving notifications when crossing guard jobs become available, visit the Tooele City Human Resources Employment & Volunteer Opportunities page.

Disputing Traffic Citations
In order to dispute a traffic citation, or other notice of violation, you must make an appeal to the Tooele City Recorder. You can find more information about the appealing process by visiting the Request for Appeals & Administrative Hearings Page of our website.
