Assistant Chief Nick Wall

Nick Wall began his service with the Tooele City Fire Department in May 2014 as a volunteer firefighter. Over the years, he has served in multiple roles within the department and command staff, including Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, and currently Assistant Chief over Fire Prevention. In November 2022, he was appointed as Tooele City’s first full-time Fire Marshal & Emergency Manager. Most recently, Nick transitioned from his role as Emergency Manager to serving as the City’s Fire Marshal & Fire Investigator.

As Fire Marshal, Nick is responsible for fire code enforcement, fire and life safety education, and fire investigations throughout the City of Tooele. His duties include overseeing the city's fire safety inspection and education program for all business occupancies and leading public outreach initiatives that teach fire prevention practices to residents of all ages. He also serves as the department's lead Fire Investigator, responding to and analyzing fire incidents to determine origin and cause.

Nick holds numerous professional fire service certifications. Academically, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Information Systems from Utah State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University.

Nick lives in Tooele City with his wife Kelli and their three children. Together, they enjoy spending quality time traveling, participating in sports, and engaging in various leisure activities. The Tooele City Fire Department is a central part of their lives, and they are proud to serve and support their community.
